 Is your engine check lamp on?
There may be many reasons why a check engine (mil lamp) might be illuminated in your car, e.g. broken wire, faulty connections, or a failed sensor or component. In simple terms your vehicles E.c.u (or computer) has detected a fault. This also applies to ABS, ESP,SRS, & AIRBAG faults that may only show themselves in way of a warning lamp.
Even if the lamps sometimes go out by themselves it does not necessarily mean the problem has gone away. The vehicle should however retain “trouble or fault codes” that can aid diagnosis & repair.
